On Thursday, October 23, 2003, I got the last bit of my vinyl graphics installed. This photo documentary will show you the installation that occurred over a 2 day period.

This is Peter who performed the installation. This was his first MINI and he was very proud of his work! He's prepping the car. I washed Lil'Octane before I arrived.

The Number 95 meatball was installed by myself. It's just removable Vinyl. I quickly discovered that doing vinyl graphics is more than simply giving the company a digital file, and having them print it out so they can peel and stick it on like a sticker. The difference is that each color is a separate piece and needs to be installed in a fashion very much like the traditional printing process where each color is laid down in each pass. The tape that is being pulled back is just a type of masking tape that is laid over the letters for positioning purposes. The letters are pressed into place and the masking tape is pulled back.

Peter wanted to be sure that it looked good not only from the outside but from the inside.

Now all we need to do is get m racing stripe in place. But it turns out that it's not that easy to install! It'll take 2 days for the racing stripe to be applied.
