On Sunday, October 5,
2003, I got my Mossmini.com Rally Lights installed.
Doug Ioki, of Motoring Security, is a long time friend of mine, and we
spent the morning doing the install, after a few weeks of planning. With
Doug working under the hood, and myself working on the interior, and doing
a lot of chatting, and just having fun, we finished it in about 3 hours.
MINIClo brought over Wicked Wanda for a visit. That's the beautiful black
MINI Cooper S in the picture. Toshi also stopped by with his wife and
his British Racing Green CVT MINI Cooper.
Unfortunately, I didn't
get a chance to snap a picture.

Aren't the Rally Lights just beautiful?
How do you like my custom lighted toggle? I love it!

Here's Doug, reviewing the instructions,
and shortly after Wicked Wanda pulled up!

Here's the mess I created! It wasn't difficult, though there were lots
of tricks I had to learn. Fortunately Doug taught me!

One of my tasks was to install the Lighted
Toggle I found. With the right tools, the job was simple!
You can see in the 3rd picture how
nicely the toggle fit inside. I did have to use my Dremel tool to
grind some plastic, but it wasn't difficult. Here's the Lighted Toggle
put in place without the locking nut.
In the last picture, you can see the silver locking nut in place. This
was actually black plastic, but
I felt it would really add a nice touch if I painted it! I think I was
right! It looks fantastic!

Doug had some Dynamat, normally used for
sound absorption in audio installations, that we used as cushioning
material to keep the Light Bar from vibrating. In Pic#2, you can see Doug
gently closing the bonnet.
Doug
Ioki (PROFILED) can be contacted
at 310-398-4139. Why do I recommend Doug? Besides him being a great friend
of mine, he's trustworthy, experienced, knowledgeable, reliable, charges
fairly, is always professional, and he provides top notch service. I think
those are all qualities that any car owner, especially a MINI owner will
find desirable. He is based out of the Mar Vista, Culver City, area of
Los Angeles, so give him a call.
