Sometimes a detailer has to realize that not everyone sees all the defects and flaws that he sees, and that's a good thing.

CASE STUDY #11
"1 Week Old MINI "

This MINI was brought home from the dealer shortly after Thanksgiving. The owner's husband owns two other vehicles that were washed with dish soap and a rag. They recognized their new MINI was very special and needed treatment that reflected that, so I came in and overhauled everything they knew about car care. We worked as a team and the results were striking!

MINI Cooper S Auto Cabrio
Our class began with an overview of the 5 Step Paint Care method that Meguiar's promotes. We examined in detail all the potential causes for damage, all the way from the mitts you use to soap your car to the microfiber towels you use to wipe your car with.
We spent the day washing, polishing, and protecting. I made sure the owners felt the paint before we began removing above surface contaminants (after washing), so they could feel the difference after claying. Night and day difference!
I love working on the bonnet. The beautiful curves have the nicest reflections!
The deep red paint looks glossy and wet! Exactly the look we are after!
The wheels are clean, tire sidewalls are black and glossy, trim arches are black, paint is wet and glossy looking, convertible top is cleaned of spot, chrome has been polished.

There was adhesive residue on the wheels. These were removed and polished out.
Nice reflections
"Split screen" shot of before and after. Unfortunately with a 5.5 hour time difference, the lighting affects the quality of the photo. Still the difference is dramatic.

Chili Red is such a striking color when properly polished and protected. Kasey& Russ were some of my best students to date. I look forward to doing a "refresher" course in the near future!
