In order to achieve the best work, a detailer should always treat the subject vehicle as if it were his own.

CASE STUDY #5
"Treat the Loaner as if it Were Your Own "

My first loaner from South Bay MINI was this Pepperwhite MCS. When they offered me a cabriolet Cooper or a hardtop, and said the MCS wasn't washed yet, I said.."Give me the dirty MCS, and I'll bring it back washed for you!"

Bug splatters couldn't be removed with any cleaners even after a thorough washing, so the rotary came to the rescue.

While cobwebs are more readily visible on darker paint, you can even see them with Pepper White.

Generally the paint is in excellent condition. Swirls are always evident in the windshield pillars. Due to the lack of sun, a Xenon flashlight is used to reveal the scratches.

Once the entire car has been claybarred, and scratches removed, and buffed, I will do some basic cleaning of the interior--primarily door panels, and the dash. In this case, the airbag warning sticker was removed, but the glue residue was left behind.

Now that we're done with the paint, we need to make sure all the wax residue is removed from the crevices, apply NXT Metal Polysh on the chrome areas, and apply NXT Insane Shine to the tires and plastic trim. The chrome tips always get sooty. It's one of the indications that this owner likes to drive their MINI spiritedly!

Since this was a loaner car, I had to leave behind a small signature. Our club antennae ball!
