Sometimes a detailer has to realize that not everyone sees all the defects and flaws that he sees, and that's a good thing.

CASE STUDY #3
"A little dust never hurt anyone"

It's quite interesting to see the affect a little dust can have on your paint. From glossy red to flat orange...

The MINI hadn't been washed in weeks and the paint took on a flat orange color. A quick wash revealed its true color, but the shine wasn't there. It was still very dull.

After the washing. cobwebs are evident on the bonnet. These can be removed with the PC.

A small scratch was found.

Once the entire car has been claybarred, and scratches removed, we can give it a thorough buffing using NXT Tech Wax. For more severe swirls, we can get more agressive either with a more coarse chemical, or a rotary buffer that does more work. But the final buff out will be with a PC to ensure the finish is swirl free. Even when a rotary is used, buffer swirls are common place, and only a PC will get them out--if the buffer swirls weren't too severe to begin with.
